Who We Are
Baywood’s founder Robert Malone is a third generation carpenter. By the age of 12 he was using a table saw. After serving in the Navy on submarines, Robert worked on union construction crews in his native New England. In 1978, after moving to California and putting down roots in the Bay Area, Baywood Building & Design was founded. In the DNA of the company is a holistic approach to construction, one that pairs craftsmanship with creative problem-solving, and fosters a cooperative ethos among the crew and our clients.
